This home had aging cedar siding on the front facade and both side walls — weathered, cracking, and well past its service life. The rear wall was in better condition and stayed untouched.
The owners wanted a modern look with zero maintenance. Longboard metal panels were the answer: clean horizontal lines, durable aluminum construction, and a finish that holds up in BC's wet climate without painting, caulking, or upkeep.
We handled siding installation only — front facade and both side walls, integrated cleanly with the existing rear cedar.
Before & After
Original cedar siding — completed Longboard metal installation.
A low-maintenance upgrade that changed the character of the home.
Cedar siding has a natural warmth — but in the Lower Mainland, it demands constant attention. Painting every few years, caulking at joints, watching for rot where water sits. On a home where the rear wall wasn't being touched, the priority was finding a material that would integrate cleanly with what remained and require nothing after installation.
Longboard aluminum panels delivered exactly that. The material is formed from extruded aluminum with a factory finish that doesn't fade, crack, or require repainting. The horizontal profile complemented the home's lines and created a sharp contrast with the preserved rear cedar — intentional rather than mismatched.
