This Richmond custom build called for four distinct exterior systems installed in sequence on a new house: NewTechWood composite siding on the walls, Lux soffits under the canopy, ACM panels on the horizontal fascia runs, and cap flashing throughout. Two months on site, $40,300 in scope, zero tolerance for misalignment between materials that all meet at the same junctions.
We handled installation only — no general contracting. Every system went in to manufacturer spec with clean transitions at every material change. The result is a multi-material facade that reads as one designed object, not a collection of separate decisions made by separate trades.
Installation to Completion
NewTechWood siding and Lux soffit installation in progress — completed multi-material exterior, Richmond, BC.
Multi-material installs on custom builds require sequencing, coordination, and no guesswork at the transitions.
NewTechWood is a wood-composite cladding product engineered to hold up in climates like Richmond's — high moisture, sustained rain seasons, and the ground-level humidity that comes with the Fraser Valley. It installs with a hidden fastener system that eliminates face penetrations and produces the clean vertical reveal you see in the photos. Unlike natural wood, it won't check, split, or grey out over time without maintenance.
ACM — aluminium composite material — is the standard for flat architectural fascia panels on high-end residential builds. The panels are rigid, dimensionally stable, and cut to precise dimensions on site. Combined with Lux soffits and properly integrated cap flashing, the full exterior envelope performs as a unit. On a custom home in Richmond at this price point, the installation quality has to match the design intent. That's the standard we held on this job.
